Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies, web beacons, pixels and similar technologies on our website. It applies in addition to our Privacy Policy and complies with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), the UK GDPR and the published guidance of the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We also follow the published policies of Google Ads, Google Analytics, Microsoft Advertising and the IAB UK Transparency & Consent Framework where relevant.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, currency, search history) over a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them every time you return. Pixels and similar technologies serve the same purpose using small images or scripts.

2. The categories of cookies we use

(a) Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (booking session, basket, security, fraud prevention, load balancing). These cannot be turned off. (b) Performance / analytics — help us understand how visitors use the site, which pages are popular and where errors occur, so we can improve the experience. (c) Functional — remember your preferences such as language, currency and recent searches. (d) Advertising / targeting — used by us and our advertising partners to show you relevant ads on our site and on third-party sites, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

3. Google services we use (with your consent)

We use the following Google services subject to your cookie consent: Google Analytics 4 (measurement of website usage); Google Tag Manager (deployment of tags); Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing; Google Ads enhanced conversions (hashed customer data sent in line with Google's policies); YouTube embedded videos; Google Maps. Google Consent Mode v2 is implemented on this site, which means signals such as ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization are passed to Google based on the choice you make in our consent banner. When you decline non-essential cookies, Google receives modelled, cookieless pings that do not identify you. For more information see policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

4. Microsoft services we use (with your consent)

We use Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag for conversion tracking and audience building, and Microsoft Clarity for behavioural analytics (heat-maps, session replay with masking of form inputs and PII). Microsoft Consent Mode is enabled, so when you decline advertising cookies the UET tag does not store identifiers and Clarity recordings are not collected. For more information see about.ads.microsoft.com/en-gb/resources/policies and clarity.microsoft.com/terms.

5. Other third-party services

We may also use cookies from: Meta (Facebook) Pixel for advertising; LinkedIn Insight Tag; TikTok Pixel; payment-service providers (for fraud prevention); customer-support tools (live chat); content-delivery networks; and accessibility tools. All non-essential third-party cookies are loaded only after you give consent.

6. Lawful basis

Strictly necessary cookies are set on the lawful basis of legitimate interests under UK GDPR and the PECR exception for cookies that are essential to provide a service you have requested. All other cookies are set only with your prior, freely given, informed and specific consent under PECR Regulation 6 and UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a).

7. Managing your preferences

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of our website. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox each provide instructions in their help pages). Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may impair core functionality such as booking and check-in. To opt out of personalised Google advertising visit adssettings.google.com; for Microsoft Advertising visit choice.microsoft.com.

8. Retention

Cookies have different lifespans. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period (typically up to 13 months for analytics cookies, and up to 24 months for advertising cookies, in line with ICO guidance). We refresh consent at least every 12 months.

9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We currently honour GPC signals from supported browsers as a withdrawal of consent for advertising and analytics cookies.

10. Children

Our website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly set non-essential cookies for visitors known to be under 13.

11. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We will update this policy whenever we add, remove or change the cookies we use. The version date below shows when it was last updated.

12. Contact
